Animal Welfare

Alimentum only buys meat, poultry, game and virtually all other fresh produce from suppliers personally visited by restaurant owner John Hugell. We investigate all aspects of animal welfare and animal husbandry including the farms use of antibiotics and their attitude towards the use of GM wheat and soya in animal feed. Freerange is mandatory, and this also extends to the bones we use in our stocks.

We believe good husbandry should provide lifestyles that take into account the animal's behavioural and environmental needs, and see no reason why they should experience a poor quality of life just because they are bred and reared to be food on our plate.
